The Expatjob.net group began with it's first job board ExpatEngineer (formerly "Jobs @ The Engineer") in January 1999.
The idea for ExpatEngineer originated back in 1999 when it became apparent that there was a desperate need for a recruitment site that specialised in international (expat) engineering vacancies.
This was the reason behind launching the world’s first engineering and technical recruitment site to bring engineers, engineering recruiters and employers together. At the time, the only source of job information for overseas engineers were monthly magazines and newspapers, by the time the news of a job reached the engineer it was already 6 to 8 weeks old. Jobs @ The Engineer, was one of the first sites to provide timely and accurate information between engineers, employers and recruiters.
In 2004 a site specialising only in Australian and New Zealand engineering and technical jobs was developed. This site is called Engineering Jobs Australia.
In 2007 Engineering Jobs North America, will be launched to specifically cater for USA and Canadian Engineering and Technical jobs.
