Job Description

Purpose/Role:
Reporting directly to the Country Manager the Angola HSSE Manager will be responsible for all Health, Safety, Security & Environmental functions in Angola.

The HSSE Manager will be responsible for managing all safety and Security issues related to Amec Paragon's operations in Angola in compliance with corporate policy & procedure.

Responsible for developing a safety culture in Paragon Angola.

Ensure safety statistics for the Amec Pargon Angola operations are accurately reported to Amec corporate function, ExxonMobil and other clients.

The HSSE Manager will liaise directly with the project team in Houston and Angola and may be required to make occasional visits offshore & to construction yards in Angola.

The HSSE Manager will be responsible for ensuring safety in design for the Kizomba Satellites project and any additional projects as assigned.

Ensure compliance with Amec corporate HSSE policies, procedures & initiatives.

Ensure compliance with Safety & Security objectives for ExxonMobil & other clients.

Key aims & objectives:
- Ensure paragon Angola operations meet with AMEC corporate HSSE policies & procedures.
- Ensure security in AMEC Paragon offices & living quartrs meets with AMEC & Clients corporate policy.
- Review design of projects conducted in Angola & confirm compliance with AMEC & Clients corporate policy.
- Ensure all staff in the Paragon Angola office receive adequate safety training.
- Ensure Paragon Angola adopts all AMEC corporate safety & security policies.
- Report safety statistics to AMEC & Clients.
- Management of safety inductions for all visitors & new employees.
- Management of office & living accommodation safety reviews.

Prime responsibilities & duties:
- Providing HSSE advise to the Paragon Angola Operations.
- Providing security advise to the Paragon Angola Operations.
- Reporting of Safety & security statistics.
- Providing assurance of safety in design.
- Conducting periodic safety & security audits in the office & staff accommodation.
- Liaising with Client HSSE personnel to ensure compliance with specific requirements.
- Interfacing with lead engineers in Houston & Angola.
- Interfacing with ISOS regarding issues related to health provisionfor expatriate staff.

Core competencies:

- Competent in reporting of safety statistics
- Familiar with issues related to security & disease prevention in developing countries.
- Experience of working in developing country.
- Extremely patient

Qualification & experience:
- Qualified in relevant engineering discipline.
- At least 10 years experience in management of HSSE in the Oil & Gas industry.
- At least 2 years experience in working in a developing country.
- Experienced in training & development of personnel.
- Familiar with issues related to disease control & security in developing countries.
