Providing solutions for customers engaged in petroleum exploration, production, measurement and transportation their solutions include the design, manufacture and supply of technology and equipment.
To ensure they make the most of the buoyant market they are looking for an Area Manager to help grow their Separation Technology business. This technology makes the oil and gas production process more efficient and less expensive.
Through their worldwide regional support offices, this unit provides solutions to more than 200 clients worldwide. This includes companies such as StatoilHydro, ConocoPhillips, Chevron, ADNOC, Shell, BP, ExxonMobil, Total, NIOC, PDO, AGIP, Maersk, Hydro, Petrobras, Petrocanada, Talisman, Unocal, Woodside and British Gas. The position of Area Manager will play an integral role in the profitable growth of this Business Unit within the company.
Your main tasks include:
- Manages contracts governance with customers as follows:
- Coordinates quarterly performance reviews within customer and company.
- Works within both organizations to develop, maintain, and track Key
- Performance Indicators (KPI’s) used as a gauge to measure relationship performance.
- Coordinates governance sub-committee meetings (quality, technical, customer support, and commercial). This includes working with the company and customers to ensure objectives are mutually agreed upon and worked within both organizations.
- Manages Frame Contract as follows:

- Liaison with the Project Teams to resolve any contract issues.
- Work with customers to initiate any additions/amendments to the Contract (Equipment/Service additions)
- Seeks and identifies business opportunities by interviewing customers personnel, other suppliers and colleagues in other regions and by researching business periodicals and Internet sites and by networking at industry sponsored events.
- Analyses the opportunity, identifies the decision makers and procurement processes, researches the customer, partners of the customer and any history either may have had with the company and creates and develops solutions. Presents information to management to determine opportunity potential, and whether the opportunity will be pursued.
- Prepares sales strategies for targeted opportunities and compiles information needed to prepare proposals such as identifying financial or safety benefits for customer, new applications for existing products and positive performance histories with company’s products
- Prepares monthly reports and internal memos to communicate and outline opportunities, to take corrective actions to resolve issues before they become problems and to assist with forecasting
- Prepares and makes sales presentations focusing on value to the customer and coordinates visits from staffs and upper level management to the customer where necessary. Arranges customer visits to the company’s facility.
- Acts as a liaison between the Project Team and the customer and must be attuned to issues of both in order to communicate and clarify issues regarding the needs and expectations of the customer and constraints within the Engineering processes.
- Keeps abreast of new products, specifications, industry trends, competitor strengths and weaknesses and communicates new information to colleagues. Attends industry sponsored trade shows and seminars. Communicates potential opportunities to the company.
- Manages business expenses against a jointly developed Sales and Advertising Budget and completes reporting requirements.
Key requirements include:
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, negotiating, writing and presentation skills in order to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts.
- Must be able to modify communication and presentation style in order to relate to a variety of people and personalities.
- Must be outgoing, self-directed, aggressive and creative to be able to identify and maximize opportunities.
- PC skills with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and project software
Experience
- Minimum of five years project management experience with a record of demonstrated success.
- Minimum of five years sales/marketing experience with a record of achievement
