Job Description
In order to satisfy an existing contract we currently have a requirement for a Mechanical Foreman to work with one of our clients in Libya on a rotation of 6 weeks work followed by 3 weeks leave. This is a desert based position with usual Expat status, flights, accommodation, visas etc. provided. The Basic function of this position is the maintenance, repair, overhaul and testing of a wide variety of mechanical equipment and systems associated with the company’s oil and gas operations.

The main duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Responsible for the observance of safe working practices in the field and workshop areas and ensures that applicable safety procedures and regulations are followed by the personnel under his jurisdiction.
Carries out efficient remedial action to correct mechanical malfunction or failure on a 24-hour basis.
Works closely with local trainees & monitors training progress.
Analyses machinery faults and makes recommendations regarding corrective action. Understands the company’s warehousing system and stock control methods. Prepares stock withdrawal orders on a daily basis.
Has high standards of housekeeping, both within the workshop area and on site. Educates trainees in suitable methods.
Has a thorough understanding of lifting devices & associated equipment as related to job position: ensures that all such equipment is in good condition prior to use.
Should have a responsible attitude to the Company’s needs & requirements.
Experience in the maintenance and overhaul of turbines is essential.
Fluent written and spoken English is required.
