Summary
Primary responsibilities will be to prepare preliminary and detailed estimates for all levels of engineering, procurement and construction phases of projects. Project types will range in categories from Pipelines to Upstream to Midstream work scopes. Candidates must be capable of preparing estimates that will qualify as Total Installed Costs (TIC). This will include costs for all variety of projects involving process, piping, civil, structural, instrumentation, electrical, mechanical and equipment. Candidates must be capable of preparing estimates for various phases of projects ranging from grassroots and new installations to demolition to revamps, etc.
Requirements
• Degree preferred, but not required.
• 10 plus years of project estimating experience
• Prior project estimating experience with various detailed estimating tools and software (e.g. Timberline, Icarus/Kbase, FM-estim, etc.).
• Capable of leading an estimating group, inclusive of scheduling assignments and validating estimates.
• Must have good communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills.
Responsibilities
• Prepare both conceptual (techniques of factoring, ratio’s, historical data, etc.) and high quality, detailed (inclusive of functional take-offs) estimates.
• Participate in the development, updating and documenting of estimate policy and procedure.
• Ensure that estimating processes are documented and followed.
• Participate in improving techniques for estimating.
• Engage directly with engineers/designers who may provide estimate input.
• Lead internal estimate reviews with company management.
• Lead external estimate reviews with clients.
