Project Manager and Construction Manager
Alumina Refinery
Gladstone, Australia
$120 to $150,000.
Our client is a major American Engineering & Construction firm with a new project at the Rio Tinto Alumina Refinery at Gladstone in Queensland.
A mining background is needed , but any metal (aluminum gold, copper, silver, etc.) experience will be acceptable. This is stage 2 for the expansion of the Rio Tinto Alumina Refinery at Gladstone in Queensland. The firm completed stage 1 in 2004. Scope is similar and approx 25% larger. The project was awarded last month. They have just mobilized a small crew to site last week.
Scope of work consists of designing, fabricating and erecting 72 tanks (24 x precipitators, 14 x washers/thickeners/clarifiers, 3 x elevated cone bottom tanks, 5 x Stainless FBT's, 26 x FBT's) install piping (43km), structural (2700 tonnes), insulation & mechanical eqpt in precipitation and washer/thickener area. Total 1MM hours work. Contract price A$140MM, cost reimbursable. Peak crew 450, notional 45hr work week. Completion date Dec 09.
Married status location in Gladstone. Gladstone is on the east coast of Australia, almost in the tropics. A very good family location with customer providing all accommodation. Gladstone is about 500kms north of Brisbane. The need for this person is immediate and although an Australian is preferred, they will recruit worldwide
