My client is an international EPC contractor in the Oil and Gas industry with over 90 offices worldwide involved in multibillion dollar projects. They have been awarded a long term contract to provide EPC and PMC services for offshore oil and gas facilities in Saudi Arabia.
Due to project requirements a vacancy exists for a Principal Offshore Structural Engineer to be based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
Requirements
- B.Sc. Engineering, Civil or Structural
- Minimum 12 years design experience within offshore oil and gas design project is essential, including operating in a senior supervisory role where you were responsible for the leadership and quality of the output from large teams.
- A thorough knowledge of the codes and standards and a good understanding of offshore engineering practices applicable to topsides piping design for oil and gas facilities
- Exposure to fabrication, construction and installation activities although detailed involvement is not essential
- Gulf experience is preferable
Responsibilities
- Overall supervision of structural engineers and technical competence of structural personnel within team
- Forecast requirement for structural engineering resources, and allocate those resources
- Structural design integrity of work scope and maintenance of standards
- Prepare structural discipline manhour estimates to perform project tasks
- Manage structural engineering design and any design changes within budget and schedule
- Evaluate new technology advancements against existing design standards and revise where applicable
- Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives
- Technical supervision of project designated structural designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duties
