TRANSMISSION PLANNING ENGINEER opportunity for a highly regarded firm in Hawaii. Requires BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. A PLUS to have study emphasis in the field of Power System Analysis. Must have working knowledge of methods for economic analysis operating practices power systems simulation programs technical drawing engineering standards protective relaying short circuit calculations and substation design practices. Need working knowledge of the principles of utility rates and tariffs PURPA and general energy issues. Need ability to use software applications such as CADDS spreadsheets word processing etc. The LEAD POSITION requires 8+ years experience in electric utility power system power systems planning design or operations. Lead position requires PE professional Engineer license. STAFF POSITION requires minimum of 5 years related experience. Position performs long and short range transmission planning studies other related technical studies prepares transmission substation conceptual layouts incorporate projects into the capital expenditures budget provides regulatory support performs operations planning studies performs general administrative related functions maintains related transmission system data and support the generating plants.
