Job Description

A Civil/Mechanical Engineering Department located in Manhattan is looking to hire a Section Manager to oversee the Steam Project Engineering Section. The selected candidate will be responsible for directing and supervising Mechanical Engineering personnel (15) and administrative functions for the section. The Section Manager will ensure that the sections activities to provide both project support and technical support to the Steam and Electric Generating Stations for the efficient reliable and safe operation of equipment in the following areas of expertise: Rotating Equipment Analysis Stress Analysis and Applied Mechanics Thermodynamics and Cycle Efficiency Pumps and Subsystems Engineering Piping and Valving Engineering Water Treatment Heat Exchangers and Design and Drawings development. The Section Manager supervises the groups efforts to insure its activities support operations maintenance and technical personnel in the Generating Stations. The Section Manager will oversee physical analysis work assignments coordination organization presentation and consultation to Company forces. Previous experience supervising engineering personnel/projects is required. Ten (10) or more years experience in the areas including Steam Plant engineering and operations is a must. The candidate must have a BS in Mechanical or Marine Engineering (PE license highly preferred). Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
