Reporting to the Electrical/Instrument Supervisor, I was employed at the Kupol Gold Mine Project, in the Chukotka Region of Russia. The project has been successfully completed. My Duties included:
o installation of field instrumentation and electrical devices
o cable pulling and air supply installations
o assembling field junction boxes and start/stop stations
o field layout of instrumentation takeoffs and cable trays for other trades
o communicating and working with other technicians and engineers, many of whom were either Russian or Spanish speakers.
o Compilation of electrical as-built drawings using AutoCAD
o Checking installations, commissioning instrumentation systems

- Instrumentation Technician Flint Energy, Grande Prairie AB, May 2006 – July 2007
Reporting to the Instrumentation Supervisor and Commissioning Engineer, I was employed as an instrumentation technician, constructing a recovery boiler in Grande Prairie AB
o Duties included installation and commissioning of field instrumentation (transmitters, automatic valves, sensing lines, air supplies, sampling systems etc.).
o Practiced safe work habits, ensuring work was completed to company standards using the correct ranges and control action

- Instrumentation Mechanic Western Pulp, Squamish BC, January 2004 – March 2006
Reporting to the Instrument Supervisor, performed instrumentation maintenance in a bleached kraft pulp mill to ensure safe 24/7 operation. Worked closely with other trades, and plant personnel.
o Performed routine and breakdown maintenance of transmitters, control valves, analyzers and sampling equipment, pneumatic and electronic controllers, DCS controllers (Honeywell & Delta V), and other process instrumentation
o Experienced in many areas of a complex industrial plant; power and recovery, secondary treatment, chemical production, chip handling, pulping, screening, bleaching, pulp drying and finishing departments
o Ability to prioritize and safely complete all trouble shooting and repair work assigned, making efficient use of inventory and materials.
o Responsible for time estimates, field measurements, and ensuring proper installation of equipment and materials.

- Apprentice Instrumentation Mechanic Western Pulp, Port Alice BC, January 2000 – December 2003
Reporting to the Instrument Supervisor, performed instrumentation maintenance and repair in a bleached sulfite pulp mill. Worked closely with Journeyman Instrument Mechanics.
o Responsible for assisting with installation, routine and breakdown maintenance of transmitters, control valves, damper drives, switches, rotometers, gauges, sampling systems, analyzers, and controllers.
o Other responsibilities included: control valve and positioner repairs; routine ISO 9001 and 14001 calibration checks; instrument air maintenance; tube bending, cable pulling, Emergency Response Team member (ERT)
