Summary |
• Welding consultant in the engineering and architectural communities for structural steel, aluminum and stainless steel weld joint design, fabrication and erection and procedure development.
• Inspection of contractor structural steel, stainless steel or aluminum fabrication, high strength bolting and erection activities in accordance with AWS, UBC/IBC, AISC, local jurisdiction and specific proponent requirements.
• Performed contractor ICBO ES approved manufacturer, fabricator audits and QC agency assessments.
• Certified for nondestructive testing in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A - Level II for: Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant testing and Radiographic Film Interpretation.
• Performed verification inspections and Structural Observation in accordance with the AWS D1.1 and UBC/IBC codes for building/property owners and registered design professionals.
• Generation of welder, brazer and solderer performance qualifications, welding, brazing and soldering procedure specifications and procedure qualification records. Also developed and implemented QC systems and welder continuity programs for aerospace/aircraft, precision sheet metal and structural fabrication facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• 35 year’s of domestic and overseas experience with the GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GMAW-P and OFW/OFC processes. Also experienced in PAW, SAW, RSW, IB and IS processes in addition to AC/DC adaptive-synergic pulsed, AC square wave and variable frequency gas tungsten arc welding technologies.
• Qualified in mechanical testing and evaluation including macroetch, bend and tensile tests.
• Technical procedure and specification development and review.
• Interpretation of radiographs, blueprints, isometric drawings and electrical schematics.
• QA inspection of processing and fluid handling equipment critical coating systems.
• QA inspection and welding procedure and performance qualification verification of hydro testing of piping systems (metallic/nonmetallic), pressure vessels, above ground storage tanks and valves in accordance with:
ASME: BPV Codes, Section IX, Codes for Pressure Piping - B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.9 and
API: Standards - 1104, 650, 598 and 602.
• Approved by the State of California:
DSA/OSHPD (1995-2008) for structural steel fabrication, erection and high strength bolting
DOT/Caltrans (1996-2008) for seismic retrofit – welded fabrication, bridge inspection and quality control
DHCD (2001-2004) for Commercial/Special Purpose Commercial Coach QA inspection
• Experienced using the following quality standards: AS9003, AS9100 and ISO9001
