Purchasing Supervisor
Recruited from ExxonMobil (Esso) Norway as a RasGas Direct hire employee. Initially brought in as buyer, and shortly afterwards promoted to supervisor to lead a project purchasing team consisting of; 3 buyers, 2 purchase assistants, 1 expeditor and 2 clerks. Project scope: Procurement of LNG Trains (3 thru 7, AKG and COP) 2 year operating spare parts (in same manner as described below ExxonMobil 2nd entry), operating supplies, major equipment (not included in the EPC contractor’s scope such as sulphur trucks, gas chromatographs/laboratory equipment, PABX/CISCO telecom. systems etc.), above initial chemical fills, urgent maintenance requests and award of personnel contracts. Accountable for the success of all project procurement from pre tender to award, public tendering, expediting, customs clearance, deliveries to site, personnel interviewing/selection/termination, employee performance evaluation, training, status reporting and Limited Tender Committee presentation. Responsibilities also include acting as Procurement Manager as and when required.

Third and fourth year of secondment involved the execution of procurement process activities from tender through bid evaluation to award of goods and service contract agreements for Esso’s Norwegian installations using Achilles for tender selection, including re-negotiation of existing bulk material outline contract agreements. Responsibilities included Maximo course leader and SAP R2 to SAP R3 agreement conversion support. During final 3 months of secondment, was Esso’s Single Point of Contact for Kvaerner AS (Norway) Ship Builders in connection with the concluding stages of all Esso’s Balder FPSO warrantee/guarantee claim issues.
Procurement Advisor
First and second year of secondment involved procurement of 2 year operating spare parts which involved the identification of Original Part Manufacturers from Spare Parts Interchangability Records (SPIR) and Recommended Spare Parts List (RSPL) followed by “Best Price” procurement activities for Esso’s Norwegian installations Jotun and Balder. Responsibilities also included parts analysis, expediting and liaison with inventory/catalogue material specialists to ensure standardisation of said parts. Once all inventory had been established was later located at Esso’s warehouse to hand-over procurement activities to warehouse buyers. Procedure required thorough user knowledge of computer systems SAP R2 and R3.
