Summary
I have been involved in all aspects of piping engineering, design, drafting, checking, man-hour control and estimates including supervision of manpower. 37 years post apprenticeship experience in oil & gas, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Shipyard, FPSO and Power Generation. I have worked in the design office, on-site and offshore in a lead capacity for major UK and Overseas companies on projects though out the world.

Work Experience
Oct. 2007-Present
Piping-PDMS Site Engineer-Coordinator-BP: SKARV FPSO Project-SHI Shipyard, Geoje, South Korea.
Primarily responsible for ensuring that the shipyard complies with the requirements of the Contract with regard to safety, certification and technical aspects of all piping layout basic design. Monitor SHIH production of the Hull PDMS model for clash and space management on Main Deck, Turret and Aft Poop Deck.
Perform these tasks in accordance with the project procedures to ensure they are safe, operable, will function as intended and will meet the project’s quality requirements. Input into Technical Queries, Interface Requests, Deviation Requests to expedite responses and ensure satisfactory resolutions on technical issues raised by the shipyard and head office. Develop JIS Standard Piping and Valve Material Specification for Marine Systems on the FPSO.
Coordinate with other disciplines within the site team and input into the marine/mechanical/vessel plan approval systems controlled from head office. Perform surveillance of SHIH and subcontractor’s installation, outfitting, flushing & testing, reinstatement, mechanical completion and commissioning activities according to plan. Advise on integration scope and participate in Module installation studies and endeavour to obtain clash free installation of topsides scope onto the hull within the requirements of project integration and safety. Attend regular meetings/video conferences/reviews with EPCM/ SHI Hull builder and Topsides fabrication and integration contractors.

Piping and Layout Engineer- FWF PMT: Safra Expansion Project, Hanwha E&C, Seoul, South Korea.
Working as part of the Foster Wheeler France Project Management Team my duties involved overseeing Hanwha E&C, the detail design contractor. Review/approval on behalf of the Client, the Plot Plan, Unit Equipment Layouts and all Piping Engineering issues. Ensuring the design conforms to international standards, safety and project requirements.

Lead Piping Eng and Eng Coordinator- BP-KBR: Greater Plutonio FPSO Project-HHI Shipyard, Ulsan, South Korea.
Multi discipline support for HHI Hull and Topsides to identify and resolve interface/engineering problems. Execution of FPSO PDMS Clash Management Scope and Procedures to assign, review and resolve all interface issues. Review and oversee all piping systems through the construction and completion phases. Control hydrotesting, flushing and mechanical completion of all topsides systems and integration. Complete site surveys and certification of As-Built status for all piping documentation. Attend regular meetings/video conferences/reviews with EPCM/ HHI Hull builder and Topsides fabrication and integration contractors.

Lead Piping Engineer- Conoco-Halliburton KBR: Belanak FPSO Project-Dalian New Shipyard, Dalian, China
Responsible for all piping systems on site throughout the detailed design and construction phases for the Hull machinery space, ballast systems, main deck cargo, IG systems and living quarters. Oversee construction and installation through to mechanical completion.
Mechanical Completion of FPSO Carry Over Work-Mc Dermott, Indonesia: Compile Work Packs to complete carry over work, order materials, oversee construction completion including hydro testing. Perform Piping system handover to commissioning for client acceptance.

PDMS design and input of brown/green field piping for Arimid expansion plant. Design and site survey of Tie-In locations to brown field site.

Åsgard B-Checking isometrics and preparing documents for fabrication, producing PDMS pipe support location drawing. Producing PDMS hook-up drawings of piping, ducting, cable trays, and structures for technical manuals and instructions for construction personnel. Checking all lines on P& ID'S and colour coding for all piping systems. Oseberg Sør, Subsea Template for Norsk Hydro-Piping design and equipment layout of the Production & Water Injection manifolds and hydraulic piping distribution systems. Produce PDMS piping general arrangements and Isometric drawings. Gullfaks Phase II-Front-end piping studies and equipment layouts, in PDMS for metering and flow line pig launcher/receiver modules.

Principal Piping Designer-Squad Leader: Badger Africa-E.M.S. Refinery Expansion Projects, South Africa.
Engen, Natref & Sapref Refineries-Design of Gas blending & TEL-TML lead addition unit, Hydroisomerisation area for the Alkylation unit. New 36” flare system, Centrifugal and Reciprocating compressor layouts. Review of stress systems for all critical lines and pipe-spring replacement. During major shut downs Supervision on site, advising construction on problems to maintain start-up schedules. Obtain Client approval for design and implementation of tie-in systems.

Sept. 1990 - June 1992
Senior Piping Designer, PDMS: BP-John Brown E&C Bruce Drilling Platform, Fos-Sur-Mer, France.
Design and PDMS input of HP & MP Gas, Oil & Water Injection Flow lines in wellhead area. On site through construction phase of the project, assisting fabrication, installation and testing of all piping systems and mechanical completion.

July 1989 - Aug. 1990
Principal Piping Designer: Fluor South Africa Mossel Bay Onshore Refinery Project, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Liaison with client, consultant stress engineers, production and assembly. After the design phase I was involved with production, certification, assembly and inspection.
