Summary |
I am an Accountancy graduate with two years experience in the said field. My previous assignment was in a construction company wherein our client is the US Embassy in the Philippines. I was assigned as a Project Accountant in that project until I finished my contract last December 31, 2009.
My work as a Project Accountant helps me to develop skills in accounting, leadership and teamwork. We all know that working in a construction company means you have to exert more effort to perform your duties and responsibilities in a smooth and in an orderly manner since unnecessary activities or transactions could arise in the middle of your daily basis work, thus I learned how to overcome stress and pressure, focusing only on the things that will contribute to the success of the project. I developed more my integrity and honesty. Since I am assigned also as the revolving fund custodian, cost control must be implemented because lax in the said field would cause over-spending in the part of the company, hence would create variances against the budget of the project. I am also knowledgeable in SAP system since it was the software we are using in the company. I also handled payable responsibilities and had experience in banking transactions like Cash deposits and withdrawals. |

Position: Project Accountant

Project Owner: United States Embassy
• Assist operations in the preparation of budget (Financial Aspect, Indirect cost, etc.)
• Uploading of approved operating budget in the system.
• Prepares Financial Forecast (P&L; Cash Flow: etc.) of the project that will be the basis of comparison from the actual.
• Verifies completeness of documentation and the appropriate SAP encoding made by the Disbursement and Cost Accountants relative to project disbursements and cost accounting.
• Consolidate and interpret all reports made by the Disbursement Accountant; Cost Accountant and Supervised Accountant.
• Ensure the timely, accurate submission of financial reports and analyses of the project.
• Ensure the timely preparation of the Statement of Account and/or Invoice to clients upon verification of billing computation & complete documentation. Also, ensure prompt billing of cost and earned (unbilled receivables). Should know the complete and updated status of receivables/payable status of the project.
• Prepares monthly cash flow statement of the project in comparison with the forecast.
• Monitors actual cost incurred vs. operations budget as provided in the data from cost accountant.
• Prepares timely and accurate schedules and analyses for external auditors (SGV).
• Monitors the various bonds issued by the subcontractors as to expiry and applicability. And ensure that all requirements from claims to the bonding company are completely met, if there is any.
• Assist the operations group in securing local business permits and licenses.
• Assist the project team in the preparation of closed out reports. Should be able to know the complete scope of works (Contract packages with the owner; subcontractors; and NSC) and ensure that final claims are completed.
• Petty Cash and Revolving Fund monitoring and custody.
