Summary |
24 years experience in the field of drainage and waste water engineering including urban storm drainage and foul sewerage concept/detailed design, preparation of design calculations and reports, preparation of tender drawings, tender documentation and construction supervision/coordination of storm drainage and foul sewerage networks and treatment plants. Project Manager – Drainage/Sewerage
Responsible for overall project management, concept, preliminary and detailed designing, coordinating with client in design approvals/NOCs, preparing technical notes, calculations and detailed design reports, finalising technical specifications, tender documentation, tendering, tender evaluation, awarding, contract documentation and construction coordination with resident engineer and the client for the several foul sewerage and storm drainage projects for Sharjah Municipality as a part of Sharjah city development programme.
The foul and SWD projects include the design of gravity sewers (200 – 1000mm dia) using micro drainage WinDes modeling, manholes/chambers, house connections, intermediate pump stations and associated mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works, rising mains, non disruptive road crossing (micro tunnelling), conflict resolution, temporary solutions to deal with the existing sewage flows.
Selected projects include:
- Foul drainage in Al Shahba, Al Darari, Al Turfana, Al Raffa, Al Talaa and Al Khezammia residential areas in Sharjah, 785 ha, AED120 million.
- Foul drainage in Al Elyash, Al Mowafjah, Al Sweihat, Al Ramaqia, Al Goaz and Al Ramtha residential areas in Sharjah, 850ha, AED140 million.
- Roads and Drainage (Foul, SWD & TSE) in Al Mamzar, Al Khan, Al Layyah and Al Majaz residential and commercial areas in Sharjah, 550ha, AED 610 million.
- Roads and Drainage (Foul & SWD) in Industrial Areas No. 2, 3 ,5 & 6 in Sharjah, 600ha, AED 720 million

Municipality Redevelopment Area Sewers in Ajman
As a package manager, carried out detailed design and tender documentation to provide foul sewerage for Ajman municipality redevelopment area with priority buildings to be served in a first phase (AED 16 million) of construction and detailed design of remainder of network to be completed at a later date under phase-2 (AED 25 million). The design includes hydraulic modelling based on short and long term solutions.

Olcott Mawatha Road Rehabilitation Project, Design Engineer
Project funded by the World Bank. On secondment worked with WS Atkins International, as drainage design engineer and involved in the design of storm water drainage for roads.
Pettah Drainage Rehabilitation Project, Engineer’s Representative
Supervision of foul/surface water drainage gravity pipe laying; temporary flow diversion and over-pumping; removal of existing siphons; construction of access chambers; de-silting of stormwater culvert. Project cost LKR 10 million.
Colombo Stormwater Drainage Rehabilitation Project, Design Engineer
Project funded by the World Bank. On secondment worked with WS Atkins International, as drainage design engineer and involved in the design of several flood alleviation schemes.
Responsibilities included site investigation and survey, hydraulic calculations, design of pipeworks, RC culvert, chamber, and outfall; contract documentation, estimation and liaison with the client. Used Wallrus suite of computer program –Wallingford Procedure.
Operation and Maintenance of existing foul and storm sewer network in the Colombo Municipality, Civil Engineer
