FEBRUARY 2007 - NOVEMBER 2007. LEAD QUALITY ENGINEER (MALAYSIA).
Sapura Acergy, for SURF and other Subsea Projects. Based in the head office in Kuala Lumpur I was responsible for the development and implementation of Quality Management System Procedures, ITPs, Work Instructions. Extensive overseas visits to attend kick-off meetings, evaluate and audit Vendors and subcontractors. Responsible for Southeast Asia and Australasia areas.

DECEMBER 2005 - JANUARY 2007. QUALITY MANAGER (KOREA/QATAR).
PMT – For Total, on behalf of Qatar Gas. (Value > $800M) - Based in the Project Home Office in Seoul, overseeing all QA and QC, PO and Vendor activities during the detailed design and procurement phase of refinery and LNG Tank Farm. Review of contractors’ procedures, Inspection and Test Plans, Technical Bid Evaluations and extensive overseas visits to vendors’ and supplier’s premises that were not on the approved vendor list for evaluations, pre-inspection meetings, audits and follow-up inspections and expediting. Conduct audits of contractor’s quality management system and attended weekly PMT meetings.

MARCH 2005 - DECEMBER 2005. QA & QC ENGINEER (NORTH AFRICA).
PMT – British Gas, Sfax, Tunisia. - As part of the Asset Integrity Team responsible for the review of existing work Dossiers for close-out. Onshore/Offshore inspections and problem solving. Write all QC and NDT procedures, work instructions and inspection and test plans. Review of contractors’ quality documentation, traceability of permanent materials and site construction supervision. Reviews of all radiographs made by local TPI Company and advise on handover dossier creation.

OCTOBER 2004 - MARCH 2005 PROJECT QUALITY ENGINEER (FRANCE).
PMT – Stolt Offshore S.A. 32, Avenue, Pablo Picasso, Nanterre, Cedex, France. (Value > $300M) - Write Project Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans for Subsea Manifolds, FPSO Suction Anchoring and other SURF Projects for Angola and Nigeria. Review QMS Procedures and advise on revisions, and attend all quality related meetings.

SEPTEMBER 2003 - SEPTEMBER 2004. QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER (NIGERIA).
PMT - Shell SPDC, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. (Value $180M) - Based in Port Harcourt to set-up the Quality Management System for the Soku de-bottlenecking LNG project. Created QMS Procedures, wrote the quality assurance section of the EPC contract and attended project kick-off meeting in Japan.

JULY 2003 - AUGUST 2003. SITE VERIFICATION ENGINEER (NORTH AFRICA).
Lloyds Register of Shipping, Western Libyan Gas Project, Mellitah, Libya. - Responsible for verification activities for the construction of <100,000m3 LNG, Oil and condensate tanks, pipelines, process piping, pumping systems and desalination plant. Checked material traceability and certification for permanent items. Carried out daily surveillances for all quality related matters and raised NCR’s on non-conforming matters against project approved procedures.

DECEMBER 2001 - OCTOBER 2002. CERTIFICATION MANAGER (S/AMERICA).
Third contract with Foster Wheeler on the PMT - LASMO/Foster Wheeler JV, Dación Upstream Oil Field Project, Venezuela. (Value $200M) - Set-up certification using the Q-Pack Completions system, reviewed work packages and informed construction of progress and outstanding inspections. Compilation of hand-over dossiers and informed all parties of remaining punch items prior to certification. Generated reports to guide pre-commissioning and commissioning planning activities for a safe plant start-up.

JUNE 2001 - SEPTEMBER 2001. QUALITY MANAGER (UK).
Entrepose/Sofregaz Joint Venture, Bord Gais LNG Compressor Station Upgrade. (Value £60M) - Amending QA/QC system upon arrival at site. Site inspections of high-pressure LNG piping and all related certification, oversee hot-taps, welding and pressure testing, PWHT and NDT. Compile QC documentation, material traceability and maintain weld control system database. Interpretation of radiographs and approve NDT reports. Full traceability for all QC documentation and final hand-over.

MARCH 2000 - DECEMBER 2000. QUALITY MANAGER (S/AMERICA).
Asea Brown Boveri’s Nickel Plant Project, Caracas, Venezuela. (Value $460M) - After arriving late in this project I was responsible for amending the Quality Management system structure, develop inspection formats, procedures and work instructions. Responsible for a team of 36 inspectors and surveyors and appoint areas of priority according to the construction sequence. Attended daily progress meetings and compiled final handover packages.

JANUARY 2000 - MARCH 2000. INSPECTION ENGINEER (U.A.E.).
PMT - Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, On-shore LNG Project, Habshan. (Value $3.5B) - Review and approval of all quality documentation including ITPs submitted by Bechtel’s QC. Filling-in on inspection duties for welding and piping based on AWS 650, ASME Sec’ IX and B31.3. Check material certification and view radiographs. Walk pipelines and checked against Isometric and P&IDs prior to hydro testing. I left this contract for a more demanding role back in Latin America.

MARCH 1999 - OCTOBER 1999. QA & QC MANAGER (PAKISTAN).
Toyo Engineering Corporation, PVC Plant, Karachi. (Value $450M) - Set up the QA & QC at site, created all inspection formats for mechanical, instrumentation, electrical and piping. Site inspection of piping, tanks and mechanical installations and cross check certification and traceability. Create computer database for QC traceability. Interpret radiographs and witness pressure tests, walk pipelines against isometric and P&IDs. Compiled handover dossiers.

JULY 1998 - DECEMBER 1998. FIELD SUPERINTENDENT (SOUTH AMERICA).
PMT - Orinoco Iron, Finmet HBI Project, Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela. (Value $1B) - Review and amend QA & QC system upon arrival at site. Planning and liasing with contractors for all heavy lifts operations concerning material handling equipment from pre-fabrication to installation. Responsible for problem solving throughout all areas under my control.

FEBRUARY 1997 - JULY 1998. CHIEF COORDINATOR (SOUTH AMERICA).
Second contract with Kobe Steel Limited, Located at Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela. (Value $750M) - Originally the Q/A Engineer to set-up QA & QC systems, later made Chief Coordinator for pre-fabrication and installation of piping and ducting. Supervision of QC, organise piping, pickling, flushing and pressure testing to ASME B31.3. Viewed radiographs, approve WPSs and NDT reports to ASME V & IX. Walked pipelines and checked all items against P&IDs and organised Pre-Com.

OCTOBER 1993 - OCTOBER 1996. QC DOCUMENTATION ENGINEER (SAUDI ARABIA).
PMT - Ministry of Defence & Aviation, Saudi Strategic Storage Program, Riyadh & Jeddah. (Value $30B+)
Set up QA/QC system at Riyadh and Jeddah sites. Write quality plan for the welding sections. Attend meetings with contractors’ QA and QC, reviewed work packages, and material certification traceability. Radiograph interpretation, welding, consumable and fabrication inspection.

MARCH 1993 - SEPTEMBER 1993. QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER (U.K).
Second contract with Senior Thermal Foster Wheeler, Hinkley Point “B” Nuclear Power Station. - Set up QA System and review/revise quality plans. Approve WPSs and material certification prior to use. Consumable control and material traceability. Welding inspection and organize NDT. Monitor PWHT on carbon and CMV piping. Final documentation hand-over for client approval.

JANUARY 1991 - FEBRUARY 1993. WELDING / PIPING SUPERINTENDENT (IRAN).
PMT - Kobe Steel limited, NISCO’s MIDREX DRI & Briquetting Project. (Value $5B) - Observation of erection methods, approve welding procedures and non-destructive test reports. Monitor all NDT by the contractor, approval of fit-ups and weld visuals including the use of introscopes. Witness welder qualification tests and monitor the control of welding consumables and welder audits. Compile pre-roll up punch lists, approve radiographs and attend weekly progress meetings.

JUNE 1987 - APRIL 1989. WELDING AND NDT INSPECTOR (U.K.).
