Work Experience |
| I began my career on the water operating my own private recreational dive boat. When I decided to venture into commercial shipping I got my first break as an OS for Tidewater, quickly moving up in rank to Mate 200 NC/AB RFPNW Unlimited. Rather than immediately going to work on my license I decided to gain more deck experience by going deep sea as an AB STEERSMAN/TANKERMAN ASSIST. In that capacity I had the good fortune of working with some of the most sophisticated ships navigational equipment available: ARPA, ECDIS, AIS, GMDSS, radars, gyros, and other electronics while also becoming a skilled ship handler. After accumulating enough sea-time and completing the necessary course work I followed the money into towing, working until I achieved Master 500 Oceans/Master of Towing Oceans. |
